Beemers and Warplanes rally held at the North Landing Beach Campground in Virginia Beach was hosted by BMW Motorcycle Club of Hampton Roads. Mike Duffy, Tony and I rode together Friday morning on 17 North which for the most part is a scenic highway through rural NC and into Virginia. The campground is about 6 miles from the NC border and right on Carrituck Bay. It is a beautiful campground (with cabins for those who don’t want to tent it). There is a camp general store on the premises for beer, ice, etc. Saturday night is a catered BBQ style dinner and door prizes. This is our second Hampton Roads rally, last year it was called Beemers and Biplanes. (See our write up of that rally in Beemer Ramblings.)

Saturday starts with the poker run which ends at the Military Aviation Museum to see the “warbirds.” The $25 charity ticket for the poker run included admission to the museum, hot dogs, beans, drinks and rally prizes. I won the poker rally with three 8’s!
